Chrysin is a rarer one worth knowing — it helps clear bilirubin, the pigment that pools under the eye after blood leaks from fragile capillaries. Retinol and bakuchiol thicken the skin over time so vessels show through less. Hyaluronic acid plumps the surface so it reflects rather than absorbs light.

It depends entirely on the mechanism. Caffeine, cold patches and hyaluronic acid work within minutes to hours, but the effect is temporary and needs repeating. Light-reflecting pigment — which several products on this page contain — works instantly and washes off. Niacinamide, vitamin C and chrysin typically take four to eight weeks of consistent daily use before pigmentation visibly lightens.
